Entertaining Angels all set to entertain Winchester audiences

Winchester’s best-loved theatre company, the Chesil Theatre, kicks off a sparkling new season on 13 October with Richard Everett’s superb tragi-comedy, Entertaining Angels.

Vicar’s wife, Grace has spent a lifetime on her best behaviour. Now, after the death of her husband Bardolph, she can enjoy the new-found freedom of being able to do and say exactly what she wants. But the return of her eccentric missionary sister, Ruth, together with some disturbing revelations forces Grace to confront the truth of her marriage. Set in a lush vicarage garden complete with grass, plants and a stream with running water, the play is filled with sharp-edged comedy and probing wit.

Award-winning director, Norma Yorke, said: “This is a warm, feel-good comedy that lands just the right side of the sentimental.  We have a great cast and an astounding set complete with an actual running stream!”

Performance details: 13 – 20 October at 7:45pm with a matinee on 20 October.  Tickets from £10 – £12 available from the website: www.ticketsource.co.uk/chesiltheatre or by postal application to the Chesil Theatre, Chesil Street, SO23 0HU.
